Businessman Held in Drug
Testing Scam

The 49-year-old
owner of a Houston drug testing business has been caught selling
altered drug test results to those seeking a city wrecker driver's
license, police said Friday.
Police are
concerned about the public safety hazard the scam could represent,
said Sgt. Doug Osterberg of the Houston Police Department's Major
Offenders Unit.
Michael Whitfield,
of the 3400 block of Ashlock, is so far charged only with possession
of a controlled substance.
Charges in
connection with the fake drug test results are forthcoming,
Osterberg said.
Whitfield is owner
of Quality Testing Systems, but Osterberg said the company
apparently has no facilities, just a post office box in Houston.
Osterberg said
undercover officers approached Whitfield and told him they needed
negative drug test results to get a city wrecker license, but had
drugs in their systems.
Whitfield sold the
officers fake drug test results for $100, Osterberg said.

that anyone else who has hired employees with test
